About the Patron

Loyola Matriculation School is an initiative born out of the vision of Late. Shri. S.Pathinathan, M.A., B.T, an educationist who worked to enlighten the poor children about the importance of learning and whose desire was to establish a school with global standards to make the students professionally competent , in order to build a just society for the betterment of the country.

He was born in a very poor family at Cheyyur in Kanchipuram district. He was able to pursue his school education due to the patronage and assistance of a kind hearted Catholic priest. He became a school teacher and promoted as a Head master of St.Mary’s Middle School, Cheyyur. Since he wished to remain to be at the service of the poor students he denied the promotions that came in his career.

He had a passion to assist the deserving children out of his own limited financial resources. He passed away on May 31 2003 at the age of 64 , having dedicated his life and energy for the upliftment of the poor children and those from the marginalized communities. . His countless students from poor, humble background have emerged as leaders and visionaries in their profession.

Further his burning desire was to start a school in rural area with a vision to impart quality education, to promote leadership qualities and skills to the children on par with urban standards, so that they can become effective agents of change and be self-reliant individuals in their personal and in professional lives………
